Over 200 Donors Came Together for Life-Saving Blood Drive in Goa

In an encouraging demonstration of community spirit and social responsibility, over 200 donors came together at Tapobhoomi on July 13th to participate in a large-scale blood donation camp organized by the Satguru Foundation, Sadguru Youth Federation, and Shree Datta Padmanabh Peeth. The event was held to mark the Gurupeetharohan Dwitahpurti Mahotsav of Sadguru Brahmeshanand Acharya Swamiji, who personally inaugurated the camp by lighting a ceremonial lamp and donating blood himself.

In the address, Sadguru Brahmeshanand Acharya Swamiji emphasized that blood donation is much more than a medical procedure; it is a vital act of service rooted in India’s cultural and spiritual traditions. “Blood donation is a donation of life, a virtuous act that embodies compassion and humanity. It is essential for helping those in need and maintaining the health of our society,” he stated. Pujya Swamiji urged the community to organize regular blood donation camps in villages, temples, and major public places across Goa to ensure that the Goa Medical College never faces a blood shortage. He further appealed to everyone to foster a culture of giving that extends beyond personal benefit, emphasizing that such acts of service help keep our society resilient and compassionate.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from youth, who came out in large numbers driven by a shared sense of duty and community service. Medical professionals from Goa Medical College provided excellent support throughout the day, coordinating efforts to ensure a smooth and efficient process.

Distinguished guests such as Dr. Milind Desai – Physician and Cardiologist – Margao, Pradyumna Chari – Artist, Darshan Misal – Captain of Goa Ranaji Sangh, D. B. Patil – Social Worker – Belgavi, Ajit Panchwadkar – Director Social Welfare Department, Government of Goa, Senior Doctor of Goa Medical College, Directors of Shree Datta Padmanabh Peeth Vinayak Shigaonkar, Ramesh Phadte, Sujan Naik, Shriraj Shelar and President of Sant Samaj Sanghatana (Social Department) Sachchidanand Naik etc. were present.
